Homemade roasted pecans are quick, delicious, and satisfying. They are ready in 10 minutes and can stand alone as a delectable finger food for when you have surprise guests or can be incorporated into salads, side dishes, and desserts.
What You'll Need
1 TBS. of butter or pecan oil
1 tsp. salt (I used pink Himalayan salt.)
1/4 tsp. ground cayenne pepper
2 cups pecan halves*
Recipe
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
Put butter on cookie sheet and place in oven to melt (You can melt your butter in the microwave to melt it but I choose to do it this way because I just don't want to wash another dish.)
Once butter is melted, add salt and cayenne pepper and mix.
Add pecans to butter mixture and toss to coat.
Bake pecans for 10 minutes or until they begin to brown.
Remove from oven and store in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
*I use Elliott pecan halves. They can be found here, www.thealabamapecancompany.com/shop
It doesn't get anymore easy or straightforward, unless you just eat raw pecans from the bag which honestly is a pretty great treat in it's own right.
P.S. - I've eaten half of this bowl whole writing this blog post. They're almost as addictive as potato chips.
